Namboole to Host 2024 Airtel Masaza Cup Finals

Kampala, 7th October 2024: The Airtel Masaza Cup 2024 final game will be played at the Mandela National Stadium on 2nd November 2024. The announcement was made today during a press briefing at Bulange, Mengo by Owek. Robert Sserwanga, the Kingdom’s Sports Minister.

The tournament, which started in June this year, is now at the semifinal stage, with Buwekula, Kyaggwe, Buddu, and Kyadondo counties making it to the final four. These teams will compete against each other in the semifinals, and the winners will then face off in the final game of the tournament at Namboole.

Airtel Uganda reaffirmed its dedication to supporting local sports and cultural heritage through its ongoing sponsorship of the Masaza Cup. “Airtel Uganda always honored to be a part of this journey, one that brings communities together and celebrates our rich traditions. We are looking forward to witnessing an exceptional final match and commend all the teams for their passion and resilience showed so far,” said Joseph Musoke, Manager Strategic Partners.

The Airtel Masaza Cup has grown over the years, attracting both young talent and thousands of enthusiastic fans who are passionate about Buganda’s cherished traditions. This year’s tournament has seen heightened competition with fans eagerly awaiting the thrilling finals.

Speaking on behalf of the Buganda Kingdom, Owek, Robert Sserwanga, the Sports Minister of the Kingdom shared his gratitude for all supporters and contributors of the Masaza Cup for always making it a successful event.

He said, “The pricing of the games will remain as before. The ordinary tickets will go for Ugx. 20,000, UGX. 50,000 for VIP and Ugx. 100,000 for VVIP. I want to thank all supporters and contributors who have played a major role in supporting the teams. And on the 2nd of November, amongst, Kyadondo County, Kyaggwe County, Buwekula County and Buddu County, we shall have the victors of the Masaza Cup 2024.”

“I want to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors who are doing a great job with us and all of you out there who are supporting your teams in every way possible. To our main sponsors Airtel Uganda, thank you for the good work in terms of support.” Owek. Ssewarnga added.

Airtel Uganda and the Buganda Kingdom invite all football enthusiasts to join them on this remarkable occasion and witness the crowning of the 2024 Airtel Masaza Cup champion.

“At Airtel, we are working to see that tickets can be bought through Airtel Money and very soon we shall be communicating on how you can buy your ticket. I urge everyone to come in big numbers, all supporters and well-wishers to attend and support the teams,” Musoke concluded.
