President Yoweri Museveni is set to address the nation for the second time this week, his handlers have revealed.
The President will hold a press conference on Saturday, September 15, and is expected to address himself on matters of security. The address is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm.
Two days ago, Museveni spoke for 3 hours during which he touched matters of youth employment, education, health, the economy, politics and partly security.
His address came only hours after the gruesome assassination of outspoken Police officer, ASP, Muhammad Kirumira in Bulenga, near Kampala. He said that he had instituted a security committee and that part of the resolutions reached was to recall reserve forces and deploy Local Defence Units (24,000 in number) in Kampala and Wakiso.
It is likely that his subsequent address will aim at projecting further measures that seek to calm what has become a national security concern.
Members of the opposition have continuously accused Museveni of losing his grip on security, one of the successes his government has prided in over the 3 decade tenure.
