President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni hosted world-renowned evangelist Pastor Benny Hinn at the State Lodge in Nakasero, in a deeply spiritual and reflective meeting focused on Christianity’s impact on Africa, national transformation, and prayer for the country.

During the engagement, President Museveni shared his reflections on how Christianity has shaped African values, particularly highlighting the unique message of the resurrection.

“The value addition to Africa by Christianity was the message of resurrection,” he noted.

“Our people knew God before—we call Him Katonda in our language, the creator. But the resurrection, that was new. The message of Jesus to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself is very important. That’s a key message.”

The President also revealed a personal connection to the faith, disclosing that one of his daughters serves as a priest.

Responding to the President’s remarks, Pastor Benny Hinn offered a powerful reflection on the nature of life, grounding it in the person of Jesus Christ.

“Life is not a thing. Life is a person, and His name is Jesus. People talk about plant life, animal life, human life, but truly, it’s a living plant, a living animal, a living human because life itself is only found in Him,” he said.

Also present at the meeting was Pastor Robert Kayanja, who commended President Museveni for his enduring commitment to Uganda’s liberation and development. He also expressed gratitude for the President’s spiritual openness and hospitality.

“Thank you, Mzee, for welcoming the anointing the way you did, providing security, transportation, and even your own vehicle for Pastor Benny Hinn,” said Pastor Kayanja. “You have shown us humility, love for the Church, love for Jesus, and love for Uganda and Africa.”

The gathering concluded with a moment of prayer, as Pastor Hinn interceded for the First Family and the nation. The heartfelt meeting ended with the exchange of gifts between President Museveni and his guests, symbolising mutual respect and a shared commitment to both spiritual and national growth.

The American evangelist arrived in Uganda at the close of last week for a three-day Miracle Healing Crusade at Miracle Centre Cathedral in Rubaga, Kampala. Equity Bank Uganda supported the Crusade with a donation of Shs50m.
