President Museveni is scheduled to address the nation on health matters this Friday, December 2, 2022.
According to the Senior Presidential Press Secretary, Sandor Walusimbi, the address will be live on all Radio and TV Stations.
“PPU wishes to inform the General Public that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Uganda and Commander-in-Chief of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces; Gen. (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will on, December 2, 2022, at 8:00 pm Address the Nation on Health Matters,” he noted in a statement.
The national address comes after the minister of Health, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, assured foreign ministers that the Sudan Ebola virus in Uganda is under control and that the country remains safe for visitors and tourists.
Appearing before Parliament on Tuesday 29, the State Minister for Health (Primary Health Care), Margret Muhanga, hinted at the possibility of the government lifting the lockdown in Mubende and Kassanda districts by mid-December “if the public continues to adhere to Ebola guidelines”.
The districts have, in the past months, been under lockdown after registering high numbers of Ebola cases.
