President Museveni on Monday joined other Heads of State and Government at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya to witness President William Ruto’s Inauguration.
“I once again congratulate President William Ruto and the brotherly people of Kenya,” he said.
While addressing thousands of Kenyans at Kasarani stadium, Museveni said he has met Ruto on several occasions and knows him as a practical person.
Museveni expressed optimism in the Ruto administration saying he is confident that he (Ruto) will deliver.
“I have not read the manifesto of Kenya Kwanza nor the Azimio one. But I know H.E. Ruto, I have met him a number of times in Uganda and I know he likes ideas and frank talking.”
Citing his experience of 60 years, Museveni advised Africans that prosperity comes from wealth creation.
“And wealth is not the same as natural resources, you may have natural resources and not get wealth out of them.”

“I reminded the people of Africa that our prosperity will come from Commercial agriculture, manufacturing, services & ICT. For the EAC in particular, we need to work on the issue of regional markets to ensure our people’s prosperity.”

“All the political class in Africa, I appeal to you to answer the question, Where does prosperity come from? Given my experience, commercial agriculture, manufacturing, services eg hotels, and ICT lead to prosperity and create jobs.”
