President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met and held fruitful discussions with H.E. Vladlen Semivolos, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Uganda, and Ms Bella Cherkesova, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media.
The meeting, held at State House, Entebbe, focused on strengthening the longstanding relations between Uganda and Russia. The two sides discussed key areas of mutual interest and explored avenues for deepening cooperation, particularly in digital transformation, communication, media, and investment.
Earlier in the day, Ms Cherkesova attended the official opening of the ministerial segment of the Uganda-Russia Intergovernmental Commission and Business Forum at the Speke Resort, Munyonyo.
Speaking at the event, H.E. Cherkesova, who led the Russian delegation, commended Uganda as a key trade and strategic partner in Africa. She reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to creating favourable conditions for joint investments, technological cooperation, and the transfer of digital expertise to support Uganda’s development agenda.
President Museveni welcomed Russia’s continued partnership, emphasising the importance of technology and innovation in driving Uganda’s economic growth and self-sufficiency.
The meeting underscored the growing collaboration between the two countries as they seek to expand cooperation across various sectors for mutual benefit.
