President Yoweri Museveni has reacted to the Swift bus explosion that left one person dead, and two others injured.

The incident on the bus belonging to Swift Safaris Bus company under registration number UAU 989T, happened along Kampala- Masaka highway, it was traveling from Kampala to Ishaka, Bushenyi.

Preliminary reports indicate that the blast was from the seat and it only killed the occupants, and injured the one sitting behind.

According to Museveni, the hunt for the criminals of Pader who were trying to blow up Lokech’s funeral service, Komamboga where one young Ugandan person was killed and 3 injured, continues.

He assured the public that the criminals will be got saying “the hunt continues, the clues are plenty and clear.”

Museveni indicated that the remaining 37 other passengers were safe plus the driver.

Monday evening’s incident comes two days after another attack happened at a popular pork joint in Komamboga, a Kampala suburb which left one person dead and three other injured.

The incident was termed as an act of domestic terror, where crude materials including nails and other crude items were used in making the improvised explosive.

According to Police Spokesperson CP Fred Enanga, a team of bomb experts have been dispatched to Lungala, along the Kampala-Masaka highway.

“The scene has been cordoned off pending a thorough assessment and investigation by the bomb experts, We shall periodically give updates surrounding the incident,” Enanga said.
