Museveni Promotes CMI’s Col Abdul Rugumayo to Brig General

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, has promoted 76 Uganda Peoples’ Defence Force Officers.

Among them is the Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence Col Abdul Rugumayo who has been promoted to the rank of Brig General.

According to the Defence Spokesperson, Brig Gen Felix Kulaigye, 62 others were promoted from Captain to Major, and promoted from Lieutenant to Captain.

“Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, and UPDF congratulate the officers for the well deserved promotions,” Kulaigye noted.

Rugumayo previously served as deputy General Manager Luwero industries, he took over from Brigadier Asiimwe who was sent on training.

He Deputises former SFC Commander, Maj Gen James Birungi who took over from Maj Gen Abel Kandiho, who was appointed as the Joint Chief of Staff of Police.
