President Museveni who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has promoted 382 and confirmed 13 Senior and Junior Officer Ranks of the UPDF.
One Colonel has been promoted to Brigadier General, four Acting Colonels to Colonels, 18 Lieutenant Colonels to full Colonels and five Acting Lieutenant Colonels to Lieutenant Colonel.
Others are; 61 Majors who were promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, two Acting Majors to Major, 92 Captains to Major, two Acting Captains to Captain and 210 Lieutenants to Captain.
“The Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs and UPDF fraternity congratulate the Senior and Junior officers upon their well-deserved promotions,” said Defence Spokesperson, Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye.
