President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has welcomed His Excellency Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria, to State House for discussions on strengthening economic cooperation.
The meeting focused on several issues of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on expanding the export of Uganda’s finished dairy products to regional and global markets.

“We discussed a number of issues, particularly the export of finished dairy products,” President Museveni said after the meeting.
Uganda has steadily built its dairy sector into one of the country’s leading agro-industrial success stories, with growing volumes of processed milk and related products finding markets beyond East Africa.

The talks highlighted the potential for increased trade between Uganda and other African nations, leveraging value addition to boost farmer incomes and national revenue.
