President Yoweri Museveni and the Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II have held talks relating to the return of the remaining Buganda kingdom properties.
The two met on Tuesday at the Kabaka’s palace in Banda, near Kampala. The President’s visit was at the invitation of the Kabaka.
The President last met the Kabaka in August 2018 at State House Entebbe when Asante King Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II visited Uganda.
According to a post on President Museveni’s facebook page, the meeting also discussed pending issues involving Buganda Kingdom’s property and financial arrears.
“I paid a courtesy call on my brother, His Highness Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, at his palace in Banda, Wakiso District. I thank him for the invitation,” President Museveni’s Facebook page posted.
“We held a cordial meeting where we agreed that all pending issues involving the kingdom’s property, land and financial arrears be resolved soonest. I thank the Kabaka for the hospitality extended to my entourage and myself,” the post concluded.
