President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has held high-level meetings with two key diplomatic delegations in Kampala, reaffirming Uganda’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and promoting regional stability.
On Monday, President Museveni received H.E. Mohammed Bin Khalil Faroudah, the Ambassador of the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Uganda, at Nakasero State Lodge.
The two leaders held a cordial discussion focused on deepening bilateral relations and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation between the two nations.
“We discussed deepening bilateral relations, cooperation and other matters of mutual interest between Uganda and Saudi Arabia,” President Museveni shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.
The meeting highlights Uganda’s growing ties with the Gulf region, especially in areas such as trade, investment, education, and labour.
Earlier in the day, President Museveni also hosted a delegation from the European Union Mission in Uganda, led by H.E. Jan Sadek.

The talks centred around regional security, with a particular emphasis on the situation in South Sudan.
“I met a delegation from the EU Mission in Uganda led by H.E. Jan Sadek. We discussed a number of issues of security in the region and South Sudan. I welcome them,” the President posted on social media.
The discussions come at a critical time when the East African region continues to face a complex security landscape. Uganda remains a key player in regional peacekeeping and diplomacy, particularly in the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes regions.
