Entebbe — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held a high-level meeting on Tuesday with H.E. Mohamed Abdi Ware, the Deputy Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), at State House Entebbe.
The meeting focused on critical regional issues, with both leaders exchanging views on peace, security, and development across the Horn of Africa. President Museveni described the discussions as “productive” in a brief statement shared via his official social media channels.
IGAD, an eight-member regional bloc that includes Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, and others, plays a key role in promoting stability, economic integration, and sustainable development in the region.
While details of the discussions remain private, the meeting underscores Uganda’s ongoing engagement in regional diplomacy and its commitment to supporting collective efforts aimed at fostering peace and cooperation among IGAD member states.
President Museveni has long been a vocal advocate for regional integration and security collaboration, positioning Uganda as a key player in East Africa’s political and economic landscape.
