Kakumiro — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Friday attended a thanksgiving ceremony for Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja in Kakumiro District, where he praised her dedication to service and commissioned major development projects aimed at transforming the region.
Nabbanja, who also serves as the Woman Member of Parliament for Kakumiro, hosted the President at her country home following a tour of her flagship agricultural initiative, the Kakumiro Model Training and Skilling Agricultural Innovations Farm. The facility, championed by the Prime Minister, promotes the adoption of commercial agriculture among rural households.
President Museveni used the occasion to officially commission Hotel Classic Kakumiro, a new hospitality investment expected to boost tourism and create local employment opportunities.

Addressing a public rally afterwards, the President emphasised his long-standing advocacy for the Four Acre Model, a strategy tailored for smallholder farmers to maximise productivity. He encouraged households with limited land to engage in integrated farming and dairy production to uplift their livelihoods.
“You can change your lives by engaging in agriculture and dairy,” the President said. “For those with up to four acres, follow the Four Acre Model, and others will learn by example.”
He also commended Rt. Hon. Nabbanja’s leadership, stating that he appointed her as Prime Minister in 2021 due to her commitment and effective work methods.

“Some people fail because they don’t evaluate their work methods. But with proper organisation, like we did in the NRA/M, you succeed. Nabbanja is an example of this discipline,” he added.
The President assured Bunyoro residents and all Ugandans that peace and security remain intact, crediting the professionalism of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
“There will be no war here. The UPDF is ready and capable of crushing any threat. Peace has brought law and order,” Museveni asserted.

In her remarks, Prime Minister Nabbanja expressed heartfelt gratitude to the President for his trust and mentorship throughout her political career.
“Your Excellency, I started politics in 1998 and have grown through your guidance—from RDC roles to Member of Parliament and now Prime Minister,” she said. “You made me Uganda’s first female Prime Minister, and for that, the people of Bunyoro will always be grateful.”
She also thanked the President for creating Kakumiro District out of Kibaale, noting that the move significantly improved service delivery in the area.

Minister of ICT and National Guidance Dr. Chris Baryomunsi commended President Museveni for his transformative efforts in the Bunyoro subregion. He called on the community to continue supporting the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government to sustain development momentum.
The event drew participation from Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, and local leaders, all of whom acknowledged the impact of the President’s leadership on Uganda’s socio-economic progress.
