Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has accepted demands by radio and TV owners to reschedule the time he will deliver his new year message to the country.
Earlier communication from the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) had instructed all media houses to relay the President’s address live from 10:00pm to midnight which raised concerns from media owners saying they already had their end of year arrangements and asked him to at least reschedule the address to an earlier time.
Using his social media accounts today Saturday 30th December, 2017, the President informed the public that his address will be delivered from 7:00pm.
“Will deliver my New Year Address on Sunday 31st, December starting at 7pm. Tune in to all major TV and radio stations”, read the president’s message on facebook.
Mr. Museveni is expected to highlight the country’s gains in 2017 and explain key government plans in 2018.
