President Museveni, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has made appointments of Generals and Senior officers.
According to Defence Spokesperson, Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye, these appointments include; Chiefs, Commanders and Defence Liaison Officers to friendly Countries.
“The Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs and UPDF fraternity congratulate the appointed officers and welcome back those generals whose tours of duty in diplomatic service have been concluded successfully,” he added.
This comes shortly after the President promoted 382 and confirmed 13 Senior and Junior Officer Ranks of the UPDF.
One Colonel has been promoted to Brigadier General, four Acting Colonels to Colonels, 18 Lieutenant Colonels to full Colonels and five Acting Lieutenant Colonels to Lieutenant Colonel.
Others are; 61 Majors who were promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, two Acting Majors to Major, 92 Captains to Major, two Acting Captains to Captain and 210 Lieutenants to Captain.
