President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed in acting capacity sixteen High Court judges into the Judiciary Service.
According to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), of the 16 judges appointed, 7 are male and 9 females.
The appointments are an outcome of the Commission’s ongoing recruitment exercise of Judicial Officers at various levels into the judiciary service.
This is the largest ever appointment of Judges of the High Court at that level by the President.
The JSC noted that the appointment will enhance the capacity of the High Court to expeditiously dispose of cases and tackle backlog.
Below are the appointments:
Ikit Mary, Singiza Karekona, Flavia Matovu, Samuel Emokor, Susan Kanyange, Bernard Namanya, Patricia Kahingi, Asiimwe, Thomas Ocaya Ojele Rubanga.
Christine Kaahwa, Patricia Mutebi, George Okello, Faridah Bukirwa Shamilah, Harriet Grace Magala, Collins Acellam, Celia Nagawa, Allan Paul Nshimye Mbabazi.
