MultiChoice Uganda has announced an adjustment to its pricing for DStv and GOtv bouquets.

According to Joan Semanda Kizza, the PR and Communications Manager for Multichoice Uganda, the cost of acquiring the broadcast rights for most of the channels has increased hence impacting the cost of delivering this content to customers.

“To continue serving the same quality of entertainment, effective September 1st, 2022, Multichoice Uganda will adjust the price of our DStv and GOtv packages in line with the current market conditions,” she told the press in Kampala.

She added: “We have   considered the rate of consumer inflation and current economic pressures facing Uganda when considering our price adjustments.”

Kiiza said they have taken into consideration the Bank of Uganda (BOU) inflation outlook attributed to the weakening of the Uganda shilling against the US dollar, coupled with the rising cost of energy given the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

She said MultiChoice has endeavoured to ensure that price increases are as low as possible, while ensuring that we offer our customers the best quality service.

“MultiChoice will continue to provide unparalleled access to entertainment that is accessible to the greatest possible number of Ugandans, presenting content of the best possible quality anywhere, anytime, and at the most affordable price.”

The package price changes take effect on 1st September 2022.

All prices inclusive 18% VAT, according to Kiiza.

This year, MultiChoice will present all 64 games of the World Cup to its customers and continues to air unrivalled local content on its Pearl Magic and Pearl Magic Prime platforms.
