MultiChoice Uganda scored three accolades at the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) Excellence Awards, securing the top award for Best Event and Experiential Campaign for their MultiChoice at 30 event, including two additional runner-up accolades. This was during the 9th edition of the awards held at Protea Hotel in Kampala.

Held under the theme “Recognising Innovation and Impact in Public Relations,” the event brought together communication professionals, corporate leaders and institutions, MDAs, government officials, media practitioners, and experts from related fields such as marketing and advertising.

MultiChoice’s win in the Best Event and Experiential Campaign category was driven by the strength of its 30-year journey in the entertainment industry. The event stood out because it celebrated three decades of growth, service and local impact, giving audiences a clear view of how far the brand has come and how much more it plans to deliver.

The execution blended history, customer appreciation and future-focused storytelling, which positioned it as an experience that captured its legacy. The team also secured runner-up positions in the Best Internal Communications Campaign and Best CSR and ESG Campaign categories.

Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Uganda, said the awards reflect the work of a committed team focused on delivering value and creativity for customers.

He said, “This recognition means a lot to us because it affirms the hard work the team has put in throughout the year. Every campaign demanded precision, creativity and focus, and seeing it pay off builds us for even more challenges. We exist to enrich lives for everyone who gives us a chance, and we plan to keep showing up with work that speaks to their needs. We remain committed to supporting and training local storytellers and giving our audiences experiences that add value to their everyday lives.”

Jamugisa also urged young professionals and upcoming creatives to keep experimenting and stay consistent. “Great ideas grow when you keep sharpening them,” he said. “If there is anything this win teaches, it is that progress comes from showing up and choosing to go again even when the path feels steep.”

PRAU President Irene Nakasiita applauded MultiChoice Uganda and other winners of the night for raising the bar in the industry. “This year’s winners delivered concepts that pushed communication practice forward,” she said. “In this year’s edition, we are not just celebrating winners, but innovators who have redefined what is possible in our profession through creative concepts that continue to prove that strategic communication is a powerful driver of trust, progress and transformation.”

The Chargé d’Affaires at the South African High Commission, Solly Sebola, who was the Chief Guest, congratulated the winners and applauded PRAU for recognising excellence through the PRAU Awards and urged the association to explore collaboration opportunities with the High Commission to promote the visibility of both countries through PR.

The PRAU Excellence Awards recognised organisations and individuals who continue to shape Uganda’s communication sector. Thirteen winners were named across categories that span media relations, digital communication, CSR, crisis communication and corporate communication, including a Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Ms Sarah Kagingo for her contribution to the growth of public relations in Uganda.
