A Gombolola Internal Security Organisation (GISO) has died following an attack by unknown people in Mukono district.

Lukabwe Odious, the head of Kyampisi Sub County, succumbed to injuries on Tuesday at Mulago National Referral Hospital, where he was admitted after he was attacked by people, who waylaid him on Monday.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy PRO Kampala Metropolitan Police, the deceased was moving from Kabembe Trading Centre with the wife Jolly Lukabwe, 42, on motorcycle UEY 931F when they were waylaid by thugs and assaulted on March 7.

They were robbed of Shs2m and four mobile phones.

Owoyesigyire said police are hunting for the thugs believed to have murdered the Giso and assaulted his wife.

The body of the deceased is at Mulago for a post-mortem.
