The Government Citizen Interaction Centre (GCIC) has appointed Robert Sharp Mugabe as Assistant Director.
GCIC is an Open Government Initiative that provides a channel for feedback and suggestions from citizens to bridge the information gap.
GCIC operates under the State House as a key contact centre between Government and citizens to enhance the monitoring of service delivery.
Mugabe, the new GCIC Assistant Director, replaces Duncan Abigaba who finalized his tour of duty at the centre.
“Congratulations to our very own Sharp Mugabe on becoming the new Assistant Director. Your journey since you joined GCIC in this role is truly inspiring. Your dedication and growth are remarkable, and we’re thrilled to have your leadership on our team,” said GCIC in a congratulatory message.
His predecessor Abigaba also congratulated Mugabe.
“Congratulations, my brother Sharp Mugabe. Best wishes! But couldn’t you people organise a small handover over tea in the boardroom? How do you send off my 7 years of service with Twitter wishes?”
He added: “To an extent, a leader’s success is measured by their ability to groom a successor. Sharp Mugabe has been my second-in-command since we started GCIC. An intelligent and reliable software engineer from Makerere. I’m glad State House found him fit for the task. Congs, Bro!”
