Arua — Telecommunications leader MTN Uganda has commissioned the newly constructed Arua City Roundabout Tower, a striking landmark symbolising unity, connection, and progress, as part of its 27th anniversary celebrations.
The colourful ceremony, held in Arua City, also featured the reopening of the MTN Service Centre, which had been destroyed by fire in March this year. The celebrations brought together MTN’s senior leadership, Arua City authorities, customers, and community members under the theme “We Listen. We Care. We Do.”
MTN’s General Manager for Customer Experience, Dorcas Muhwezi, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to engaging customers and continuously improving service delivery.
“We have come to listen. MTN’s success has always been built on feedback from our customers. When you speak, we act,” she said.

Her colleague, General Manager for Sales and Distribution, Joseph Bogera, described the twin milestones—the reopening of the service centre and the commissioning of the roundabout tower—as a testament to MTN’s resilience and customer-first philosophy.
“There’s no better way to celebrate 27 years of MTN than by reopening a service centre and unveiling a landmark that connects us with the community. Our customers come first,” Bogera said.

The Arua City Roundabout Tower, now a major city attraction, stands as a beacon of progress and partnership between MTN Uganda and the people of West Nile. The structure embodies MTN’s enduring commitment to building connections that inspire growth and pride across Uganda.
City leaders, including the Deputy Resident City Commissioner, hailed MTN’s contribution to Arua’s development and applauded the company for investing in community-driven projects that enhance the city’s image and infrastructure.
At the base of the Arua City Roundabout Tower stands a sculpted leopard, a revered symbol of the Lugbara people’s identity, strength, and cultural heritage. Officially adopted in 2020 as the emblem of the Lugbara Kari Cultural Institution and Arua City, the leopard embodies protection, guidance, and unity—values deeply rooted in West Nile tradition.

“Arua shines brighter today,” MTN Uganda posted on X (formerly Twitter). “The new roundabout stands tall as a symbol of unity, progress, and shared pride. Together, we’re lighting up the city and celebrating 27 years of unstoppable love.”
The celebrations culminated in a public event at the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) Grounds, featuring music, giveaways, and interactive sessions with customers.
MTN Uganda’s 27th anniversary celebrations continue across the country, reinforcing its mission to lead digital transformation and foster inclusive growth through innovation, connectivity, and community engagement.
