The police have arrested Members of Parliament Joan Alobo and Adeke Anna in Kasangati town, Wakiso district.
The two MPs were on the way to visit Dr Kizza Besigye following his arrest and detention in a police van Monday morning.
Besigye’s Red Card Front later accused Field Force Unit officer one Mukiibi of allegedly “fondling breasts of Hon. Adeke Anna as Policemen arrested Adeke (Soroti Woman MP) and her colleague Hon. Joan Alobo (Soroti City Woman MP) in Kasangati Trading Centre”.
“Such violation of female bodies must be condemned,” the pressure group said on social media.
On Sunday, the Soroti Woman MP tweeted saying parliament for some time had a conversation on rising prices.
“A ministerial statement was issued-nothing more than that. When Besigye took the issue to the public- a presidential address was prepared. Folks, they have the guns but you have the power,” she said.
During the fracas with police in Kasangati, three other political activists were arrested as they attempted to make their way to the home of Besigye.
“I am a lawyer myself so I need to know which charges are being preferred against my client (Besigye) and see what to do,” demanded Adeke.
The MPs were quickly driven away in a police vehicle.

Besigye released
Meanwhile, Besigye has been released from the police van and allowed to get back inside his house.
He instead vowed to fight on and resist turning his residence into an alleged prison.
“I will allow anyone to turn my home into a prison,” he said.
