Her Worship Nvanungi was charged alongside Sembabule State Attorney, Jacqueline Bako.

The duo was arrested by detectives attached to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit after responding to summons that had been issued against them.

The prosecution alleges that the two accused persons in the month of April 2023, in Masaka City and Sembabule District solicited for gratification of UGX2.5 million from the relatives of an accused person who was on remand, in exchange for his release on bail.

“The Judiciary has a zero-tolerance policy on corruption and does not condone acts of corruption. That said, the Judiciary will allow due process to take its course taking into account the presumption of innocence as enunciated under the Constitution,” said Judiciary in a statement.
