By evening, the Minister was still locked in a meeting with the management of Sunbelt to find immediate solutions to the reported wanton dismissal of workers and the poor working conditions including; the lack of worker’s contracts and appointments, non issuance of worker’s identification cards, harassment, despicable sanitation and the lack of protective gears, among others.

The Minister promised that inspection of workplaces across the country would be stepped up to bring to book employers who operate without respecting labour standards.

The inspections continue tomorrow to cover more factories and the Kampala Flyover project.
