Songstress and dancer Sheebah Karungi has been awarded for being the female artiste with the most downloaded music by online music platform Mdundo. The ‘Ice Cream’ hit maker received her accolade on Thursday after putting up a paralysing act on Comedy Store at the 400 Bar in Bukoto.
To Sheebah, this was any other ordinary gig where she would make an appearance and leave the stage, but to her surprise, the rewards exceeded loud reception that the audience gave.
With a thrilling stage presence typical of the self proclaimed Swag Mama, she sang ‘Nkwatako’, ‘Muwe’, ‘Kisasi Kimu’, ‘Sitani Tonkema’ and ‘The Way’ among a few others.
But the apex of the 30 minute long act, her latest club banger ‘John Rambo’ is what evoked an enchantment among her fans. At this point, she was getting cosy with revelers seated in the audience. A good number of them got a lap dance from a sweaty Sheebah as the rest screamed on.
A couple in the VIP section had stood up and began to splash notes of money at the singer.
No sooner had the songstress wrapped her performance than Comedy Store host Alex Muhangi jokingly mentioned that there was an Award for her. And it was no joke.
Stephen, the Country Manager for Mdundo Music in Uganda said Sheebah had the most downloaded music of all the female artistes whose music is hosted on the site. He handed the Award to a surprised Sheebah amid applause from unrelenting fans.

After receiving the accolade, Sheebah said; “Sometimes things happen and I don’t even know how they happen. But they happen.”
“So, this is all you for downloading, loving me and accepting me for who I am without trying so much to impress you,” she added.
Gripped in emotion, the TNS singer intimated; “I am crazy as hell that you still love me. I love you so much.”
She dedicated the Award to all ‘Sheebaholics’ [her fans], her team Team No Sleep (TNS) “that works tirelessly without sleeping to make me who I am”.
