Mbale-Tirinyi Three-Car Accident Claims Six

Police in Budaka, have today May, 4 at around 0600hrs registered a fatal accident at Mailo tano, Mbale-tirinyi road.

The accident that involved motor vehicles Reg no- UAT 995A (Raum), UBH 437K (Toyota Hiace) and UBJ 676W (Toyota hiace), claimed lives of six people.

The six have been identified as; Mulabi David, Namarome Fatima, Nambafu kurusum, Kafero isaka, and a yet to be unidentified male adult. Nandigobe saida sustained serious injuries while two other not identified survived the accident.

Faridah Nampiima, the PRO Traffic Police, has attributed the cause of the accident to over speeding by the taxi UBJ 676W.

She noted that the drivers of both Toyota hiaces are on the run, and efforts are underway to have them arrested.

Nampiima said, “We want to caution all road users to be disciplined while on the road, most of the accidents are as a result of human errors that are avoidable once we drive carefully and responsibly.”

Today, another nasty accident involving a Link Bus Registration number UBA 003S happened along Fort Portal- Kyenjojo road. So far, 20 people have been confirmed dead
