Lubiri High School in Kampala has distanced itself from a viral video showing female students dancing seductively on the laps of their male counterparts.

“There is a video circulating on social media involving misconduct of some students on a school bus,” management said on Saturday.

The incident happened on Friday, June 10, 2022, while the bus was stuck in a traffic jam on Kampala-Jinja highway.

The girls donning school uniforms are seen rubbing their butts on the thighs of boys who baby-sat them in a sexually seductive way.

FX Kyasa, the headteacher of Midland High School, issued a short statement saying the students in question belong to Lubiri High School.

He maintained that Lubiri High School hired their school bus for an agricultural trip to Jinja city in eastern Uganda.

Lubiri quickly dismissed the claim.

“Lubiri High School, however, strongly distances itself from it and any involvement thereto. We are an institution built on imparting discipline and cultural norms to the young generation,” reads the statement.

It adds: “We, therefore, strongly condemn such misbehaviour.”

The school said investigations are underway in regards to the video’s authenticity.

The video has sparked outrage with parents and teachers condemning it in equal measure.

Some concerned parents on a WhatsApp group even suggested that it could have been sex.
