President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Lino Anguzu as the new Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Anguzu, who has been serving as Assistant DPP, will replace Justice Jane Frances Abodo, who was recently appointed Principal Judge.
The President has forwarded Anguzu’s name to Parliament’s Appointments Committee for approval, according to a tweet by Sandor Walusimbi, Senior Press Secretary to the President.
Anguzu’s appointment marks a key leadership change in Uganda’s prosecution services, coming at a time when the office continues to play a crucial role in the country’s justice system.
Anguzu has been serving as the Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, a role held since February 2019. Prior, he served as a State Attorney with the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
