He says the beginnings are not really peculiar, like pain sometimes as Africans we are not used to telling the unflowery things amongst us.

He captures Uganda’s tumultuous past at the family level during the Idi Amin regime, the civil war and the outbreak of HIV/ Aids.

“Can I be that black guy who will not keep saying we were disadvantaged what if I do not feel like a victim of supremacy? What if I reject this doctrine of my experiences? Can I be a black guy who isn’t a (victim) of poverty and racism, among others? You can be that black guy, we are amazing people we can stand out. We have the potential to be and have the potential to do something. There has to be that black man who can say for me no. I will be a disruptor,” Dr Sempebwa noted.

The book addresses issues of sexuality and gender identification, among other polarizing topics.

Speaking at the launch, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Executive Director, Dorothy Kisaka, said in the day and time where the fireside talks of Africa are fading out, books written by Africans are the new fireside.

She described Dennis as a trailblazer like the proverbial Joseph, a man with a coat of many colours.

He is the founder and president of Eagle’s Wings International and The Sahara Wisdom Center, both multinational corporations committed to spiritual freedom and transformational thinking.
