Police Forensic Experts have identified the remains of 11 students who were burnt beyond recognition in the recent Kasese Attack.
Weeks ago, 17 students of Lhubirira Secondary School, located in Nyabugando cell, Nyabugando ward, Mpondwe Lhubirira Town Council, in Kasese district, were burnt beyond recognition in the boy’s dormitory during the tragic terror attack on the school by suspected Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) terrorists.
In order to identify the victims, forensic experts from the Directorate of Forensic Services, together with the Joint Medical Teams from the Police, UPDF and Bwera, obtained biological samples from the unidentified bodies and from the relatives who were missing their children.
The samples, marked Body 1-17, were immediately submitted to the forensic lab for further DNA analysis.

He said the relevant persons will on Tuesday, 27, at 11 am, pick up the remains of their loved ones, at the Bwera Hospital mortuary.
However, six bodies have not been identified.
Enanga called upon their relatives to send their biological mothers, maternal aunts and or maternal grandparents, to Bwera Police Station, on Tuesday 27, at 10 am, for sampling.
He revealed that burial arrangements continue to be coordinated by Government through the Ministry of Education and Sports.
