Law Development Centre (LDC) has dismissed the academic registrar and his assistants for unprofessional and unethical conduct.
They are; Dr Everest Turyahikayo, Academic Registrar, Ms Mary Nakigozi, Assistant Registrar and Dr Leonard Ssozi, Assistant Academic Registrar (who voluntarily resigned).
“Dr Everest Turyahikayo, Academic Registrar, is found guilty of gross misconduct…and is accordingly dismissed with immediate effect,” states a statement by the Management Committee LDC regarding the Academic Registrar’s Department.
“Ms Mary Nakigozi, Assistant Registrar, is found guilty of gross misconduct…and is accordingly dismissed with immediate effect.”
Dr Turyahikayo is accused of unprofessional and unethical conduct unbecoming of an academic registrar while his assistant Nakigozi is accused of failure to professionally and ethically discharge the responsibilities and high standards required of her office in the management and processing of examination results.
Dr Leonard Ssozi, Assistant Academic Registrar, whose current contract of employment expires on 31st December 2022, has resigned from service.
“The director is mandated to make arrangements for the continued smooth operations of the academic registrar’s department and to fill the consequential vacancies at the earliest opportunity,” reads a statement released by Lukyamuzi Hamis Ddungu, LDC secretary.
