Kampala’s reputation as one of Africa’s most vibrant party capitals will be put to the test this evening, as La Sunday, a popular youth-driven cultural event born in Abidjan- Ivory Coast, makes its debut in Uganda.
Sponsored by Don Julio, La Sunday is slated for Thursday, at Silo 15- Bugolobi.
La Sunday promises to offer partygoers an extended celebration that blends music, fashion, and social expression.
Originating from the streets of Abidjan, La Sunday has built a following across cities such as Lagos and Dakar, where it has become known for its high-energy atmosphere and emphasis on individuality.
More than just a party, the event positions itself as a cultural gathering where the crowd, style, and shared experience, are central to the spectacle.
Its arrival in Kampala signals a continued evolution of the city’s nightlife, which in recent years has embraced more curated, experience-driven events aimed at a younger, urban audience.
At Silo 15, revellers can expect a continuous lineup of DJs, including Mask On, Black Charles, DJ Ames, DJ Dash, DJ Ssesse, DJ Marco, DJ Kai, and Melvyn Dee Jay, among others.
Organisers say the extended format is designed to create an uninterrupted flow of music and energy through the night.
Senior Brand Manager for Tequila and Rum, East Africa- Judie Nandekya, says the collaboration with La Sunday reflects a shared focus on continental celebration and connection.
“As Don Julio, we are proud to be part of an experience that celebrates culture, creativity, and connection across the continent. Our partnership with La Sunday was a natural fit because it aligns with our belief in bringing people together to share meaningful moments,” said Nandekya.
Organisers have introduced table packages for groups, with options for four and eight guests that include Don Julio and food.
