Kyambogo University will hold its 20th graduation ceremony from December 10-13, with a total of 11,721 students set to graduate in various disciplines.
According to Professor Elly Katunguka-Rwakishaya, the university’s Vice Chancellor, 5,704 of the graduating students are male, while 6,017 are female. Eight PhD students will also be graduating, with seven from the School of Education and one from the Faculty of Science.
Katunguka-Rwakishaya expressed his pleasure at the growing number of PhD students at the university, noting that the increase has been intentional. Additionally, 219 students will be graduating with Master’s degrees in different fields.
The graduation ceremony will be held physically at the university’s graduation grounds.
The best-performing student is Rukwanzi Grace, a female student from the School of Management and Entrepreneurship, with a CGPA of 4.90. The best-performing male student is Okwang Justine Joel, from the School of Computing and Information Science, with a CGPA of 4.81.
The event will be presided over by Vice President Jessica Alupo, representing President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. The Uganda Police assured parents and graduands of their safety before and after the event, calling for caution from all stakeholders.
