Ugandan swimmer Kirabo Namutebi has won a silver medal at the 5th Islamic Games being held in Konya, Turkey.
She finished the women’s 50m Freestyle event with 26.42.
“Congratulations to Kirabo Namutebi who wins a silver medal in the finals of the women’s 50m Freestyle event with 26.42,” said Uganda Olympic Committee in a tweet.
Earlier, Kirabo qualified for the finals of the women’s 50m Freestyle event with 26.74.
She finished 4th in the women’s 50m Breaststroke final and missed out on a medal.
Kirabo competed in the 2019 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in the 50 metre freestyle, where she broke the Ugandan national record with a time of 26.98.
She placed 38th out of 103 in the qualifying heats and did not advance to the semifinals.
