The “King of Ndombolo” Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, known professionally as Koffi Olomidé, has arrived in Uganda ahead of “Legends of Sound Afrigo Band: Afrigo Band at 50” Golden Jubilee Celebration.
The Congolese singer-songwriter, dancer, producer, and founder of Quartier Latin International, is noted for his explosive high notes, deep, throaty baritone, and offbeat voice.
The Millennium Grounds in Lugogo will transform into a pulsating hub of African music this Saturday, August 16, 2025, as Uganda’s legendary Afrigo Band marks its 50-year milestone with a star-studded Golden Jubilee celebration.

Organised by Talent Africa Group and presented by Stanbic Bank, the historic concert will feature a special guest appearance from Congolese music icon Koffi Olomide, who jetted into Kampala this week ready to electrify fans alongside Afrigo Band.
The night promises a rich blend of nostalgia and world-class entertainment as Afrigo Band—Uganda’s longest-running and most celebrated band—takes audiences on a journey through five decades of timeless hits, soulful melodies, and cultural pride.
Koffi Olomide will bring his signature explosive high notes, deep baritone, and infectious dance rhythms to the stage, joining forces with Uganda’s finest for what organisers are calling “history in the making.”
