King Ceasor Augustus Mulenga, the Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Uganda Presented his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Hon. Sam Kutesa, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Kampala on 16th August 2017.
Hon. Sam Kutesa congratulated King Ceasor Augustus Mulenga on becoming the first appointed Consul of Vietnam in Uganda.
He said Uganda and Vietnam have always enjoyed good relations and welcomed the decision by Vietnam to open an Honorary Consulate in Uganda as it would help foster a better relationship between the two countries.
The minister emphasized that Uganda is now targeting commercial Diplomacy and promoting trade, investment and tourism.
In his remarks King Ceasor thanked the Minister and the Government of Uganda for welcoming him as the first Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Uganda.
He added that he was looking forward to working with the Government of Uganda to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Honorary Consul stated that key on his agenda will be to inform Ugandans of the business opportunities Vietnam offers.
King Ceasor explained that one of the purposes of the consulate will be to help to Ugandans especially the business community to benefit from tapping into the opportunities Vietnam offers.
He explained that Vietnam is also populous nation with about 95 million people and is certain that this awards a big tourism potential for Uganda in achieving the 4 million tourists mark by 2020.
He also said his intention will also be to encourage Vietnamese investors to come to Uganda and invest in agro-businesses, health, education and the tourism sectors
The Honorary Consul further said that Vietnam has very many similarities with Uganda like climate where both enjoy a tropical climate and said he would endeavour to ensure that Ugandans can learn from the way Vietnam has used its climate to maximize its agriculture sector.
