The restauranteur had just returned from India where she had been flown to get medical treatment. She died at Entebbe International Airport upon her return.

Eleanor opened the Kembabazi Catering Centre Ltd in 1983 to offer a variety of foods. The spot has since become popular not just for the food but also the venue for parties and events, catering services, a kids play area, spa and salon services, coffee among others.

Despite her humble background and limited education, Kembabazi, a self made and hardworking woman has managed to build a formidable brand from scratch. She got exposed to cooking after she and her husband moved to Germany.

On their return to Uganda, she opened a small shop specializing in hamburgers and fries, which were rare treats in Uganda.

She is survived by five children.
