The Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Ms. Sharifah Buzeki, has announced the return of the Kampala City Festival 2025, one of the city’s most iconic celebrations.

Speaking during a media briefing on Monday morning, Buzeki confirmed that the official launch will take place on August 6th, 2025, at City Hall, where the festival date will also be revealed.

“I am excited to announce the return of a city celebration—the Kampala City Festival 2025. It’s going to be bigger, better, and bolder,” she declared, sparking anticipation for one of Kampala’s most vibrant annual events.

The announcement was made during a comprehensive media address in which the KCCA ED reflected on the Authority’s achievements during FY2024/25 and laid out strategic prospects for FY2025/26.

“We will not slow down. We will overcome hurdles through smarter planning, public-private partnerships, and a continued focus on service delivery,” Buzeki stated, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to urban transformation.

The Kampala City Festival, which has historically drawn thousands into the streets for a colorful celebration of culture, entertainment, and innovation, is expected to return with renewed energy and regional participation.

More details about the festival programme and theme will be announced during the August 6th launch event at City Hall.
