Kaweesi murder suspect Senfuka finally gains freedom after raising bail cash

This morning, family and friends were engulfed by joy when Ahmed Senfuka who was brutally rearrested after being granted bail walked free.

On 7th November last year, the same court granted bail to senfuka and 7 others accused of murdering AIGP Kaweesi but they were rearrested by security operatives in at Spear road junction, a matter that raised concern of various Human Rights activists.

Senfuka’s relatives petitioned High court and justice Margaret Oumo Oguli issued a habeas corpus to security organs to produce Senfuka in court which they did.

On being produced, he was slapped with fresh charges of terrorism before Nakawa grade one magistrate Noah Sajjabi who later granted him 2 million shillings cash bail.

Senfuka failed to raise the money and he was remanded back to Luzira where todate until his relatives raised the money and deposited in the bank fulfilling the bail terms.

Prosecution alleges that Ahmed Senfuka, Ali Mugoya Byantuyo, Abdul Kaala, Ahmed Yusuf, Hibwagi Sinani and others still at large between 2006 and April 2017 at various places in Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo prophesied belonging to the Allied Democratic Forces, a terrorist organization.

The matter has been adjourned to 6th February for mention.
