Lugogo — Kampala Queens FC have officially clinched the 2024/25 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League title following a 1-1 draw with She Maroons FC in their final fixture of the season held at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Although Kampala Queens had already secured the championship before the match, the team completed their 22-match campaign with a determined performance, upholding their dominance in women’s football.

Shamirah Nalugya opened the scoring for the champions in the 28th minute with a confident penalty, putting the Queens ahead. However, She Maroons’ Fiona Lucy Atono equalised in the 71st minute, forcing the match into a draw.

The thrilling finale was followed by a colourful trophy presentation ceremony, presided over by FUFA 3rd Vice President Hon. Nakiwala Florence Kiyingi. She was joined by key representatives from Finance Trust Bank, including Joan Katushabe (Manager, Marketing Communications and PR), Percy Lubega (Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs), and Margret Kubungi, Chairperson of the FUFA Women’s Executive, as well as Aminah Bukenya of the Women’s Football Association.

Individual Awards:

Fair Play Award: Lady Doves FC

Golden Glove: Daizy Nakaziro (Kampala Queens FC) – 15 clean sheets in 19 games

Top Scorer: Resty Kobusobozi (Lady Doves FC) – 17 goals in 22 games

Most Valuable Player (MVP): Shamirah Nalugya (Kampala Queens FC) – 8 goals, 7 assists in 21 appearances

This marks another stellar season for Kampala Queens FC, cementing their reputation as a dominant force in Ugandan women’s football. Fans and football stakeholders alike celebrated their consistency, resilience, and skilful play throughout the season.
