SP Michael Kananura, the Community Liaison Officer/ Public Relations Officer Directorate of Traffic & Road Safety, said Risdel died in a single-vehicle road traffic accident that occurred on January 3, 2025, at 1:00 pm.

“The crash happened at Kalagala village along the Kashagama-Lyantonde Road in Lyantonde District. The Toyota Corolla Fielder (UBK 851Y) was travelling from Kashagama to Lyantonde with a family of four on board,” said Kananura.

According to Kananura, the driver, Kasasira’s wife, lost control of the vehicle, which overturned and fell into a nearby swamp.

“Unfortunately, Mr Kasasira succumbed to drowning. The other occupants sustained injuries.”

The victims; Nshimire, 36, and her children; Aretha Ntone, 5, and Elerio Nowangye, 3, are currently admitted at Lyantonde Hospital. Risdel’s body was conveyed to the hospital’s mortuary.

The vehicle was towed to Lyantonde Police Station.
