Unconfirmed reports in the media state that Mugisha, an occasional reporter and news anchor is destined for the national broadcaster, UBC TV for a new assignment.

According to the NTV Uganda website, Karungi will forthwith head the news department and she reports to the General Manager, Editorial.

“Ms. Josephine Karungi has been appointed as acting Head of News in the NTVUganda News Department reporting to the General Manager Editorial, Mr. Daniel Kalinaki,” read the article by NTV.

Karungi has been news anchor, producer and also presenter of Perspective with Josephine Karungi, a Sunday night lifestyle talk show.

Karungi holds a Bachelors degree in Mass Communication from Makerere university.

She joined NTV in 2009 as a news anchor.

Maurice Mugisha’s reported exit from the Nation Media Group subsidiary comes a year after Aggie Konde who had for four and a half years been at the helm of NTV as Managing Director quit.

It also comes at a time when NTV is losing some of its longest serving news reporters to NBS TV.
