Japanese Envoy, Amb Mugoya Commit to Deepen Bilateral Relations

The Japanese Ambassador to Uganda, Kazuaki Kameda has pledged to further deepen the bilateral relations and cooperation between Uganda and Japan.

The Japanese envoy made the renewed commitment on Monday while meeting Ambassador Patrick Mugoya, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Ministry headquarters.

Ambassador Kameda said the Japanese government is committed to the promotion of development and strengthening Cooperation with the government of Uganda, in key priority areas of infrastructure, health, agriculture, education and sports.

He also highlighted the recent commissioning of the Source of the Nile Bridge in Jinja last year in October, which was largely financed by Japan and constructed by a consortium whose main partner, the Japanese Zenitaka Corporation is evident of the implementation of some of the infrastructure projects under development cooperation the government of Japan is committed to fulfilling.

He expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the cooperation that has always been accorded to him by the Ministry and other Departments and government agencies in execution of his duties.

On his part, Ambassador Mugoya noted that the government of Japan has been quite instrumental in the economic infrastructure development of Uganda, emphasizing that this partnership is aimed at promoting harmonised and effective cooperation between both Uganda and Japan.

He pledged his full continued support and that of the Ministry to the Ambassador and Japan in a bid to strengthen the bounds of friendship and cooperation that exist between the two countries.

Mugoya hailed the existing bilaterial relations between Uganda and Japan noting that these relations have indeed continued to grow from strength to strength.
