The highly anticipated Roast and Rhyme Soul on Strings edition went down at Jahazi Pier, Munyonyo, with Iryn Namubiru and Maro delivering captivating performances. Sponsored by Bell Lager, the event offered an unforgettable picnic experience, blending live music, roasting meat, and lakeside leisure.
The show deviated from its usual reggae theme, featuring impassioned performances from Zulitums, Anknown, and poet Kabera Angel. Iryn Namubiru, known for her timeless hits, stole the spotlight with emotive renditions of “Essimu y’ekiro,” “Simbalala,” and “Empissa zo zikyuseko.”
Maro, returning to the Ugandan stage after four years, enthralled the audience with hits like “Mubbi Bubbi,” “Kyokoba,” and “Anjagala.”
Bell Lager Brand Manager Lillian Kansiime emphasized the brand’s commitment to enhancing consumer experiences. “We’re excited to introduce Bell Citrus, adding a refreshing twist to our enjoyments.”
The sundowner experience kicked off with games, followed by DJ sets from Lynda Ddane and Melvyn DJ, seamlessly blending gospel, old-school RnB, Ugandan classics, and Afrobeats.
The adjacent Bell Citrus zone offered board games, ball games, and exclusive offers, drawing revelers throughout the event.
