“I’ll Die to Save Radio’s Property” – Weasel Warns Grabbers

Singer Weasel (L) and his departed music partner, Mowzey Radio (R)

Surviving Goodlyfe singer, Douglas Mayanja alias Weasel has told off individuals whom he accuses of grabbing property belonging to his music partner, Mowzey Radio to return it.

“Whoever knows that they took property belonging to Radio’s children, I am warning you. Return it,” Weasel furiously said in an interview while appearing on NBS TV on Wednesday.

Having been hestitant to comment on the matter initially, a seemingly emotional Weasel later opened up on how people were quick to snatch almost every valuable that Radio had in his house shortly after his death.

The talented vocalist and songwriter who together with Weasel made up the ‘Goodlyfe’ singing duo died in February this year following a bar fight in Entebbe. Since his demise, there has been controversy brewing within his closest family accusing some individuals in the music industry including Weasel of harbouring intentions to steal the property he left behind.

Frank Ssekibogo, Radio’s brother is one of those accusing Weasel. The two reportedly got engaged in a brawl last week following a misunderstanding over the Neverland home in Makindye which Radio and Weasel jointly owned. Frank allegedly wants the house rented out which Weasel is opposed to.

The two got into a fight over the issue and as a result, Frank’s car was damaged.

But according to Weasel, Frank is not the angel he wants people to believe he is. In fact, he’s among those grabbing his late brother’s property.

“We [he and Radio] toiled so hard to acquire this wealth. It wasn’t easy. Am ready to fight, and die if it comes to that, to save the property of Radio’s kids,” the ‘Wigle Wigle’ singer said.

“I am the only one left to fight for Radio. I know he would have done the same had I passed on before him. So, why should I not fight?”

“When he died, they came, grabbed everything in the house and took it including the television and the fridge. I asked them ‘Won’t Radio’s kids watch cartoons?'”.

He says he has recently received death threats connected to these very issues, but that he will die if he has to.

“People have accused me of plotting with Chagga and Washington to kill radio and grabbing his assets. But Lilian (Radio’s wife) knows the truth. She knows that I have their interests at heart,” the singer further intimated.

While some have previously faulted him, a mere colleague, for claiming to care about Radio’s family more than his (Radio) closest relatives, Weasel downplays this notion. He alluded to the common adage that friends are sometimes better than family.

Weasel equally had no kind words for his so called fans who have lately been bashing him for some of the decisions he made since Radio’s death. He said the pressure and demands have overwhelmed him and accused his critics of doing so in disregard of his emotional state.

“Some of these fans have gone too far. I see them abusing me on social media because of my choices but they don’t know how much Radio’s death devastated me. A fan will stand with you regardless of your flaws,” he said.
