IGP Reshuffles Police Officers: Onyango Bounces Back, Odongo to Command SID

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), John Martins Okoth Ochola, has transferred senior police officers in the latest reshuffle.

According to the transfers announced on Thursday, Patrick Onyango will retain his position as the spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Area.

Mark Odongo was appointed the new commandant of the Special Investigations Division (SID) in Kireka.

Venus Tumuhimbise was appointed the new deputy Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) director.

Chelimo Beata is the new deputy CID director in charge of Economic Fraud and Anti-corruption.

Paul Kato was appointed to the Anti-Money Laundering Taskforce.

Julius Twinomujuni was moved from the Anti-Corruption desk to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to handle human trafficking.

Charles Mutungi was transferred as the commander of the police Land Protection Unit to head the inspectorate at CID.

Francis Manama was appointed as the administrator for the Professional Standards Unit (PSU).

Moses Otala will head production in the welfare and production department.

Zula Ganyana was appointed the deputy commander of the protocol department.

Moses Wanyama was named staff officer in the Human Resource Development directorate.

Moses Sserunjogi goes to Busoga North as the Regional Police Commander, Ibrahim Saiga to Kigezi as the Regional Police Commander, Asiimwe Abraham to the Field Force Unit, Michael Kasigire to Kibuku as District Police Commander (DPC) and Damian Katwesigye to Nebbi as DPC.

Bryan Ampaire will replace Nakasongola DPC Philip Mukasa who was suspended and sent to the police headquarters.
