Redefining Financial Planning

More than just a campaign, ‘What’s Your Plan?’ is a movement designed to reshape mindsets and spark conversations around financial preparedness. It urges individuals, families, and businesses to take proactive steps in securing their futures through insurance and investment solutions.

Mr. Daniel Kairu- Head Business Development & Marketing unveiling the campaign

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Kairu emphasised the need for early financial planning, saying, “Many Ugandans only realize the importance of financial security when it’s too late. The ‘What’s Your Plan?’ campaign seeks to change that. Whether it’s securing your child’s education, planning for retirement, or protecting your business, planning ahead is key. ICEA LION Uganda is here to provide the right solutions to help our customers plan, protect, and prosper.”

ICEA LION Uganda offers a diverse portfolio covering Life Insurance, General Insurance, and Investment Solutions, tailored to meet the evolving needs of its clients.

Uganda’s Growing Insurance Sector

The launch of ‘What’s Your Plan?’ comes at a time when Uganda’s insurance industry is experiencing rapid growth. According to Mr. Sande Protazio of IRA, the sector recorded an 11.29% increase in gross written premiums (GWP), rising from UGX 1.44 trillion in 2022 to UGX 1.6 trillion in 2023.

This growth is fueled by several factors, including increased online insurance purchases, making policies more accessible, enhanced distribution networks, expanding insurance reach, a growing middle class, driving demand for financial security, faster claims processing, ensuring timely compensation and greater awareness and consumer education, fostering trust in the industry.

A Plan for Every Ugandan

ICEA LION Uganda aims to bridge the gap between financial planning and insurance uptake by offering innovative, customer-centric solutions.

“Financial security isn’t just about today—it’s about securing tomorrow,” said Mr. Kairu. “Our products cater to every Ugandan, from young professionals to families and business owners.”

Anne Njeri Njugi, Chief Operating Officer ICEA LION Life.

Echoing this sentiment, Ms. Anne Njeri Njugi, Chief Operating Officer ICEA LION Life, highlighted ICEA LION’s commitment to inclusivity.

“We want to be seen as inclusive, from the youngest to the oldest, we want to tell everybody that we have a plan for them all.” She added: “We are talking about plans that are going to be relevant to our clients. We want the public to know that there’s a plan for everybody.”
