Hezron Kakuyo, Father to UNRA’s Allen Kagina Dies at 93

Mzee Hezron Kakuyo died at age 93.

UNRA Executive Director, Allen Kagina has lost her father, Hezron Kakuyo who passed on on Tuesday. He is reported to have succumbed to a heart attack as he was being rushed to the hospital in Kampala.

Mzee Hezron Kakuyo died at the age of 93.

The family has organized a funeral service to be held Thursday at All Saints Cathedral Nakasero in Kampala at 1pm. He will then be laid to rest on Saturday in Kikatsi, Rwandorerwa, Nyabushozi in Kiruhura district.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our father and the patriarch of our family, Mr Hezron Kakuyo. He passed on on 19th February 2019. He will be remembered for his unreserved love for family, friends and country,” the family wrote in an announcement.

In 1961, Hezron Kakuyo was a member of the Kigezi District Council together with the likes of Gaburieri Katabaazi, Irene Bisamunyu, Kosiya Kikira, Philemon Kitaburaaza, Tereza Kabahita Mbire, many of who have since passed on.

He attended Kigezi High School in the 1940s and later, Mbarara High School.
