The Gulu City Oktoberfest taking place at the Kaunda grounds, has brought together people from different parts of the country and beyond to celebrate heritage and culture. The event, running from October 6-14, 2025, has featured traditional music, dance, and food, motor rally as well as cultural performances and exhibitions.
The Oktoberfest kicked off with a marathon, followed by performances from different artists that ran late into the night. The event also featured traditional dances from various cultural groups, including the Acholi, Langi, and Karamojong.
The event also provided a platform for businesses and investors to showcase their products and services, highlighting Gulu’s potential as a hub for industry and commerce.
The event attracted dignitaries, including the Ambassador of Uganda to Germany, Danny Ssozi, and the German Ambassador to Uganda, Matthias Schauer.
The Oktoberfest showcased Gulu’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, promoting tourism in the region. The event also provided an opportunity for cultural exchange and understanding between Uganda and Germany.
In his speech, Ambassador Danny Ssozi emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and cooperation between Uganda and Germany. He noted that the Oktoberfest is a symbol of unity and friendship between the two countries.
